Nova was the only girl in the litter out of Jory x Skye and Barb Dillon was kind enough to let her come live with us at Sarron. Nova has an excpeptional pedigree and we are
excited to watch her grow. She has a good front and rear, a lovely straight coat and a very pretty headpiece. We hope she will be a great asset to our breeding program, as she is a very sweet
and easy girl to live with.
Nova went to her first dog show in February 2026 and was amazing! She won Winners Bitch for a 4 pt major on her first show. She finished her first weekend out with a Reserve to a Major as well
Nova showed a couple more times in March 2026 and has 7 pts toward her AKC Championship. She is a very sweet, sound girl.
The beginning of May '26, Nova was not acting right - she was going off her feed, lethargic, just not thriving. I worked with her over a weekend and took her into the vet on Monday May 4th. We did
bloodwork and it wasn't too bad, my vet recommended worming her and a couple other things, which I did. By Wednesday,May 6th, she still wasn't improving and we couldn't figure out what was
going on, so on Thursday, I took her up to Ohio State University Vet Hosp on an emergency basis. The vet looked at her blood work, walked through everything else we had already tried
and said - "this almost looks like it could be Addisons' Disease" I told him that "yes, it could be that. I've only produced Addisons' one times before and it was from the same sire"
They focused in on Addisons, did the Cortisol test and YES - that was it! They started treatment on her on Friday May 8th - which includes a hormone replacement injection every 25 days
and a low dose of predinsone daily. Nova has stablized and is doing well on treatment. She is SUCH A GOOD GIRL. I am very fortunate that I have a great primary care vet who
listens to me and helps me with all my dogs as well as access to OSU with a great specialist community. Nova is alive today due to that care.
