Rumor was the foundation female at Sarron. She was the retired matriarch of the household and was "in charge" since she first bounded off the plane in September 1994.

Rumor was a petite girl and stands about 23" tall. She possessed moderate bone and ample coat. Rumor had full dentition and a level bite. Her optimal weight is 50 lbs - which she held until about the age of 7 -then she got a bit chunky.

Rumor finished her championship easily as a young dog and produced three gorgeous litters of puppies. Rumor's "claim to fame" occurred at the Belgian Sheepdog National Specialty in 1995 - when she won Best in Sweepstakes - expertly handled by her Breeder, Dennette Cockley, SumerWynd Belgians.

Rumor had an exceptional temperament, very outgoing and loving - which she passed on to all of her offspring. She got along with all people and dogs. I considered myself very fortunate to have her in my life - she gave more to me than I will ever be able to repay.

Rumor is the dam of the first three Sarron litters. These include the: Sarron SumerWynd "G" litter out of CH. Marwmyth Iron Ikon, the Sarron SumerWynd "J" litter out of AKC/UKC Ch. Touxi van de Hoge Laer, and the Sarron "Jory" litter out of AKC/CKC Ch. Johnsondale's Jory V Torbrook, CD, ROM. For more information and pictures of these these litters, please see the Previous Litters pages.

Rumor produced a total of 18 puppies in 3 litters - 9 males and 9 females. Rumor NEVER held back on testicles - 2 for each boy. From her 18 puppies 7 are champions and 3 more are major pointed. Rumor produced dogs that are Hall of Fame winners, Best in National Specialty show winners and Best in All-Breed show winners. She has Grand-Get that are Best in Specialty show winners as well.

Rumor was a sound bitch physically and mentally and produced better than herself. Her get, grand-get and I'm sure great grand-get will continue to benefit from her good health and wellbeing.

Rumor was a fabulous old gal - and as of the end of 2007 - she was still doing well!! She doesn't see as well as she used too and she has some arthritus in her rear, but she gets around very well and still does her laps in the backyard daily. Rumor still sleeps right next to my bed at night and she keeps the younger dogs (especially the puppies) in line. She is a fabulous role model for all my dogs and I'm lucky that she is doing so well at 13.5 years of age... Thank you Dennette for such a great girl! :)

Rumor suffered several vestibular syndrome attacks as she aged. Those are very common in Belgians - especially the line I've bred on. These situations started when she was about 12.5 years of age and the final one occured about a month before her 15th birthday (June 2009). Vestibular syndrome appears to be an inflamtion of the inner ear, it makes the dogs seem like they've had a stroke - but the quick attention - they rebound pretty well. At almost 15, Rumor was just not able to rebound any longer. As I update this page - it's been almost 17 months since I lost her - and honestly - I still cry when I think about that tremendous loss in my heart.

Rest In Peace, Sweet Rumor - Until we meet again...
